From the Village: Stormwater fee to begin, North Shore burglaries on the rise
6:12 am CDT May 23, 2014

The Village of Winnetka’s Stormwater Management Program outlines $41.4 million in infrastructure improvements to deliver long-term flood relief from structural flooding for up to 100 year storm events. In March 2014, the Village Council approved a stormwater utility fee as the most equitable way to pay for the costs over the life of the capital assets and the ongoing system maintenance.

The stormwater utility becomes effective July 1 — so residents will begin seeing this charge on their existing Village utility bill beginning in July.
