The majority of voters, 54.5 percent, voted no on the Willow Road tunnel referendum, which was on the ballot for the Tuesday, March 18 election in Winnetka.

The result means the community wishes for more feedback before the Winnetka Village Council proceeds with any action on the Willow Road tunnel intended for stormwater management.

The referendum, which was put on the ballot by petition, was non-binding and only advisory, meaning the Village could proceed with the tunnel regardless of the negative outcome.
