A vehicle was reportedly following children as they rode their bicycles or walked, multiple witnesses reported throughout the weekend of Feb. 22-23 in the Village of Winnetka.
These incidents occurred in the afternoon and early evening hours on both Saturday and Sunday, according to a community alert issued by the Winnetka Police Department.
“At no time did the driver exit the vehicle and approach the children,” the alert says.
The incidents occurred in the 1200 block of Tower Road, 600 block of Maple Street and 800 block of Green Bay Road.
The vehicle was described as blue, possibly with a rear spoiler and an orange stripe near its wheels; however, the vehicle’s make and model is unknown. The driver was a white male, age 20-30, with brown hair and a short beard, per the alert.
It is unknown if this is the same vehicle in each incident. The Winnetka Police Department is advising the public that if they encounter a vehicle matching the description, not to approach it and call 911.
