Winnetka is on track to have its Police and Fire Department pensions 100 percent funded by Dec. 31, 2035, five years earlier than the state mandate, Director of Finance Tim Sloth told the Village Council at its Dec. 7 meeting.

Sloth said the Police Department fund has a balance of $30.2 million and the Fire Department fund has a balance of $28.6 million.

The tax levy contributions to the funds are $1,519,805 for the Police Department, which is lower than last year, and $1,819,236, which is slightly higher.
