Loyola Academy’s Zoe Crecos first stepped onto the wrestling mat a mere year-and-a-half ago. The sophomore had never tried the sport and was looking for something to try as a student at the Wilmette school. Now fast forward nearly two years and Crecos has become one of the best female wrestlers in the state, as witnessed by her qualifying for the Marines Women Cadet/Junior National Championships after finishing second in the 117-pound weight class May 5 in Champaign.
