The team recently competed at the Special Olympics Tennis Qualifier in Aurora, with O’Connor and Xidas placing third, Palmer earning second and Green taking first place in their respective events. With his gold medal win, Green will advance to the Special Olympics Illinois State Tennis Tournament in August.

In what has become a tournament highlight, the Northern Suburban Special Recreation Association (NSSRA) Special Olympics Gator Tennis team took the courts on Monday, July 8 to greet the crowds at the Nielsen Pro Tennis Championship and perform an exhibition prior to opening matches.
